Functional Wellness

True wellness begins with understanding why you feel the way you do. At Joon Med, functional medicine takes a deeper look at your health to identify the underlying factors that may be contributing to fatigue, inflammation, digestive concerns, hormonal changes, difficulty managing weight, brain fog, and other persistent symptoms.

Many of our patients come to us because they want to understand the root cause of their symptoms rather than simply relying on pharmaceuticals to manage them. Rather than focusing solely on managing symptoms, we use advanced testing and personalized care to better understand what may be happening within your body. By looking at your individual biology, environment, lifestyle, and health history, we can develop a plan designed around what your body actually needs.

Advanced Functional Testing

Gain deeper insight into how your body is aging at a cellular level and identify opportunities to support long-term health and longevity.

Using a quick, non-invasive cheek swab, Biological Age Testing evaluates key biomarkers to provide a deeper look at how your body is aging at the cellular level. Your results give us valuable insight into your overall health and allow our team to develop a personalized wellness plan based on your unique biology and goals. Treatments such as hormone optimization and NAD+ IV therapy may also be incorporated to support healthy aging, cellular function, energy, and long-term vitality.

Gut + Food Sensitivity Testing provides a deeper look at how your digestive system, immune system, and body may be responding to certain foods and environmental triggers. By evaluating the gut microbiome and identifying potential sensitivities or imbalances, testing can help uncover factors that may be contributing to symptoms that otherwise seem difficult to explain.

Because gut health is closely connected to many functions throughout the body, imbalances may affect more than digestion. Testing can provide valuable insight into areas such as nutrient absorption, immune function, inflammation, metabolism, blood sugar regulation, weight management, mood, and overall wellness.

At Joon Med, we use your results to better understand your individual needs and help identify potential root causes rather than simply addressing symptoms. From there, we can develop personalized recommendations for nutrition, lifestyle, and wellness support based on what your testing reveals.

Gut + Food Sensitivity Testing may be especially beneficial for those experiencing ongoing digestive discomfort, bloating, food reactions or sensitivities, unexplained inflammation, changes in energy, or other persistent symptoms. It can also be a valuable tool for anyone who wants a more comprehensive understanding of their gut health and how it may be influencing the way they feel.

Investigate potential mold and mycotoxin exposure that may be contributing to unexplained or ongoing symptoms.

Explore genetic factors related to methylation and how your body processes nutrients and supports important biological functions.

Get a broader look at metabolic health, nutrient needs, oxidative stress, and other biochemical patterns that may provide clues about how your body is functioning.

Advanced testing may be used when appropriate to investigate Lyme disease and related concerns as part of a more comprehensive evaluation.

Multi-Cancer Early Detection testing offers an advanced approach to cancer screening through a simple blood draw. The test looks for biological signals associated with multiple types of cancer, including many cancers for which routine screening is not currently available.

Today, recommended routine screening is limited to only certain types of cancer, leaving many cancers without established screening options. Because some cancers may not cause noticeable symptoms until they have progressed, additional screening tools may provide valuable information that can help guide further evaluation when needed.

This testing is designed to detect signals that may be associated with active cancer in the body. It is not a genetic test and does not determine your inherited risk of developing cancer in the future.

Multi-Cancer Early Detection testing can be incorporated into a more comprehensive, proactive approach to your health alongside appropriate routine cancer screenings and medical care.
